CredenShare is finally opening public access through it’s Early Access Public BETA. Our development team has been working diligently over the last year. We created a complete credential-sharing tool that is easy to use, convenient and, most importantly, Secure.

Implications of Password Security
It’s not that we were ignoring best security practices, or that we were unaware the risks associated with sharing sensitive access information over plain text channels. As a matter of fact, according to Karspersky Information Center, breaches can typically be attributed back to some sort of credential compromise among other factors.
In the field of Information Security, passwords are the ultimate treat. Passwords are keys that open the secret doors to your kingdom; more relevantly, they create unrestricted access to your private information, your bank accounts, your business management tools. These credentials are critical to ensuring the safety of your information. However, in our experience, the protection of these credentials often comes as a afterthought for the sake of speed and convenience: our users need access NOW.
How CredenShare came to be
The continuous need that we had for sharing passwords Quickly and Securely between our teams led to us to build CredenShare Secure Sharing. Passwords managers were not the answer and there was nothing else to meet our needs. We were looking for a balance between following Information Security Best Practices and sharing sensitive content with ease. As a result, we created a tool that offers that convenience and simplicity of use, but still puts security as the most critical feature.
In our experience, we found that it doesn’t matter whether company policies state that credentials should NEVER be shared. Nor does telling our grandparents, children or spouses not to send their passwords over text messages or emails work. What we found is that even the most security aware individuals will still share sensitive credentials. Sending codes over plain text channels is common practice.
Mitigating the risk of password compromise
To reduce the security impact of insecure channels, we created Secure Share, a tool to help our customers share credentials quickly. Our goal is mitigating the potential for password compromise when sending sensitive information. Our team achieves this goal by using military-grade AES 256 Encryption when storing data at rest.
Another key feature of our Secure Share tool, critical to ensuring the safety of the data you share, is short-term persistence. Our system is built to store the information you share only as long as you need to share it. Once you’re you’ve shared it, we make it irrecoverable FOREVER. We do this by scrubbing your Secure Share record from the database once it reaches your pre-defined expiration settings.
We created Secure Share as a flexible tool for sharing your sensitive credentials. You can share with confidence. Only the people you choose to send your secret link to can see the information you send. More importantly, you can rest assured that your credentials will not linger indefinitely in some database for threat actors to find.
