Credential-Workflow Review

Answer eight questions about one workflow. Get up to three concrete first actions, including who should act and how to check completion. No identity or secret is requested.

1. Is the purpose and recipient authorization established?
2. Have you checked whether access can be delegated without sharing a secret?
3. How does the credential move?
4. Are the applied recipient and availability controls checked?
5. Is post-retrieval use/storage defined?
6. Who ends temporary access in the issuing system?
7. Is there a tested response to an absent operator or unavailable link?
8. Can an authorized reviewer trace the case without seeing the secret?

Credential-Workflow Review FAQ

What does this review produce?

Up to three first actions for one credential workflow, each with the role that should act and a check that shows the action is done. The order follows the rules in the tool: authorization first, then how the credential moves, then who ends the access.

Is anything I answer stored or sent?

No. The answers stay in this page, no identity is requested, and nothing is kept when you leave. The text file and print-out are created on your device only if you choose to save or print.

Is this a security assessment?

No. It is a self-reported review: no systems are inspected, and it produces no risk score, breach probability or SOC 2 conclusion. Use it to decide what to check first, then verify with a real sample.

What does "Not checked" do?

It is treated as an information gap, not a failure. The tool asks you to confirm the underlying fact before calling it a control problem, so an unchecked answer never inflates the number of reported gaps.

Why only three actions?

A short first plan is more likely to get done. Any further actions are counted, and your recorded answers stay on the result so you can plan a second round later.

Do I need CredenShare to use it?

No. The review works for any tool or process. If you answer that no credential needs to move, the result tells you not to introduce a sharing product just to complete the review.
